Generic salutations - most phishing emails will not be specific to you
Grammatical or spelling errors peppered throughout the email
An action is being required of you; the message will prompt you to open an
executable attachment or to click on a link embedded in the email
A sense of urgency in the language - “as soon as possible,” “immediately,” etc.
An unusual address for the sender; ie: from a legitimate organization but using a personal account.
